Our Focus
Our chapter’s focus is to educate the public about the urgency and solvability of the climate crisis, and to advocate for climate justice.
We support The Climate Reality Project global campaigns on a local scale:
phase out fossil fuels
call out greenwashing
truth to power with big finance through activism
encourage personal electrification at home & how to do it
support climate justice campaigns
urge cities, schools, businesses to use 100% clean energy
Launched in 2023, we are a regional chapter of The Climate Reality Project serving the communities of Monterey & Santa Cruz counties along the central coast of California that is focused on educating the public about the climate crisis, its solvability and advocating for climate justice.
We acknowledge that we reside and operate on the traditional lands of the native Ohlone people and the Amah Mutsun Tribal Band. We also share this bioregion with many beloved non-human marine, wetland and forest species who are endemic to this beautiful part of the planet.
Panel discussion on how climate change is intertwined with social justice issues already felt by vulnerable communities.
Climate Change is here, and impacting local communities in the Monterey Bay region. Due to structural and social injustices, marginalized groups suffer more than others from the effects of climate change as well as exposure to environmental pollution, manifesting in everything from health problems to property destruction.
